With these finely detailed coins, the Royal Canadian Mint celebrates this impressive mammal that once roamed parts of present-day Canada. The mammoth fills nearly the entire face of each coin, shown in a striking side profile, sculpted in exceptional detail. Special features: · First in the new Prehistoric Animals Series! · Image fills almost the entire coin! · This finely detailed portrayal of the mammoth has been selectively frosted to enhance the soft natural texture of the fur, and accent its smooth, curved tusks. · The pose highlights the imposing stature of the mammoth, and the natural beauty of the tusks which could grow to 4 meters long! · Limited worldwide mintage. Design: The coin features a scientifically accurate depiction of a woolly mammoth, verified by paleontologists from the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology. With its head raised, the mammoth’s trunk is outstretched between its famously long, curved tusks. The thick, coarse fur that enables it to survive the colder temperatures is shorter here, reflecting the molting that scientists believe took place in the early summer. The mammoth’s extra hump of fat appears over the shoulders. In the background, the low grasses and gentle sloping hills of the mammoth’s habitat stretches past the image’s outer rim on both sides. Packaging: Each coin is encapsulated and presented in individual Royal Canadian Mint-branded maroon clam-shell protected by a custom beauty box. Shipping & Handling Fast, free shipping & handling via USPS First Class Mail to all U.S. addresses! USPS Priority Mail & Priority Mail Express are also available for an additional charge. International Destinations: Shipping via ebay's Global Shipping Program. Additional Information OK Ranch sells fine collectible & investment coins, fine & fashion jewelry, gifts, and more through our eBay store. “ Unsearched” — All of the coins offered in this listing are “unsearched”. Many coin dealers “search” all coins when they are received from the Mint. They "cherry-pick" the best coins. Then submit them to be graded, certified, and slabbed by PCGS, NGC, ANACS, etc. These graded and certified coins are then sold at higher, premium prices. When a dealer searches coins, those that they sell in original Mint packaging are only lesser quality coins. Photos: When a listing offers multiples of the same coin, one coin is picked at random and photographed. Since all coins offered in that listing are essentially identical, the coin photographed is representative of all coins offered. Surface areas that appear black on some proof coin photos are actually highly polished, mirror-bright metal reflecting the color of the camera. Our goal is to provide clear, high definition photos that accurately represent the coin(s) offered in each of our eBay listings. Whenever possible, we use actual photos of our coins, rather than just “artist’s conception” drawings from the Mint. We frequently update and upgrade the photos that appear with our listings, using improved cameras and lenses and better lighting. We will honor your requests for additional photos as quickly as our schedule permits.
